Hike 2  - Desoto State Park

Fort Payne AL

Friday June 6, 2025

10:00 AM (CST)

Reservation required - LImited to 10 participants - $5 park fee.

Meet at the Benefield Nature Center next to the Country Store on Co. Rd. 89

Join me at Desoto State Park in Fort Payne Alabama on a meandering, mindfulness hike where we observe seasonal color changes, new growth, rock formations, flowing water and floating clouds. This hike will be a feast for the senses for all to enjoy, and chance to slow down. Experience beautiful colors, attention getting patterns, an array of textures, light breezes, and dappled sunlight while enjoying woodland scents all wrapped up with the sounds of nature.

Along this hike, we will find grounding and balance through the movement of our bodies and the sensations we feel along the way.

We will stop mid walk for a short mindfulness exercise on letting go of whatever no longer serves us or no longer brings us joy before continuing our overall experience.

We will then wrap up with a short discussion on the experience for anyone who is interested.

Dress for the weather with comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes.

Bring plenty of water and a light snack.

RSVP is required, so we know how many to expect. Limited to 10 participants.
